About Me

I have always felt that the About page is usually a stodgy uptight place on the Internet for people to blow more smoke than clean crisp truth ~ of which one might say is akin to the usual resume.  That said, time for some blunt straight truth...with a bit of playful sarcasm thrown in for added humor.

  • I am an American living abroad. As of the time of this writing; Tokyo, Japan.  You are now probably thinking something like, "Wow!  Do you like it there?"  I am living here right?  Been here three years and growing.

  • I am a qualified enough of a technician to get paid to do it.  What does that mean?  It means I architect seriously complex or really easy solutions out of Information Technology Infrastructure Components.  I would consider myself a specialist with Infrastructure Systems (OS, Virtualization, Storage, Basic Networking) and generally good at grabbing and running with the crap no one else wants to do.

  • I have a very large family.

  • I have children.

  • I have many hobbies and passions.  Though I prefer hiking and photography.

  • I want to move to Sedona, AZ and work from home.   If you have a relevant job offer feel free to ping me.  I will ACK as appropriate.

  • I have taught for UVSC College Continuing Education.

  • I have written poetry.  I know, I just lost some credibility-points there.

  • I am NOT a programmer, though I can hack through a script or two if needed.

  • I am a fan of simplicity.  Keep life simple and live longer.

  • I am a Capricorn.  I know that means I am suborn and ignorant at times.

  • I have the ability to focus when necessary and can joke with the rest of the world as time permits.

  • I have held the following jobs/positions:

    • Infrastructure Technologies Lead

    • Systems Engineer

    • Systems Architect

    • Technology Specialist

    • Retail Sales Manager

    • Help Desk Support Engineer

    • QA Test Engineer

    • Teacher

    • Lackey

    • Construction AV Engineer

    • Lighting & Sound Technician

  • I have been employed by the US Government.  I had the capability to gain security clearances.

  • I have just started getting the hang of the Internet.  Yes that means I now understand how boring it really can be.

I hope that helps!  Have quite a bit of fun carrying on!
